The Winery Train...

All Aboard the Warren County Winery Train!

Escape to a perfect day of scenic beauty, history, and wine with Delaware River Railroad Excursions!

Embark on a relaxing journey along the stunning Delaware River aboard our historic passenger coaches. The train heads south to the charming hamlet of Riegelsville, NJ, where you'll step off at our beautifully restored station.

From there, a complimentary shuttle bus whisks you up the hill to Villa Milagro Vineyards — one of New Jersey's most picturesque wineries, perched on a ridge with breathtaking panoramic views overlooking the Delaware and Musconetcong Rivers (and four counties across two states!). The name "Villa Milagro" means "home of miracles" — and the vistas truly live up to it.

At the vineyard, enjoy a guided experience learning how grapes are grown and crafted into exceptional, hand-blended wines from eight vinifera and American varieties. Sample their delicious, food-friendly selections, and take the opportunity to purchase bottles right at the source.

Flexible Schedule & Return Options Trains depart Phillipsburg at 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM (weekends May 2–November 1, 2026). The round-trip is about 2 hours, but you can stay longer in town after your winery experience returning on a later train — they run every 2 hours! (Note: The last northbound trip is around 4:30 PM, so plan accordingly.)

While in Riegelsville:

  • Stroll across the iconic Roebling suspension bridge (built 1904) — just steps from the station — to explore the Pennsylvania side.
  • Grab a bite or drink at nearby spots:
    • Hootz Bar & Grille — right next to the station, with fantastic river views and casual pub favorites.
    • The Historic Riegelsville Inn — a short walk across the bridge, offering upscale-casual dining with river and canal vibes.

Pro tip: Call your chosen spot ahead with your planned return train time so you don't miss your ride!

Bonus Adventure on the Return Trip

Trains return every 2 hours, so hop back on whenever you're ready.

The Winery

Resting on a ridge, overlooking both the Delaware and Musconetcong Rivers, Villa Milagro Vineyards offers panoramic views of four counties in two states. Raised in the Central Valley of California which produces 75% of the state's wine grapes, winemaker Dr. Audrey Cross-Gambino blends wines made from Villa Milagro's eight varieties of grapes to create complex and interesting wines. Husband Steve Gambino oversees all operational aspects of the vineyard and winery, insuring that their wines maintain the boutique quality standards of some of Europe's best hand-made wines. You will  learn how beneficial insects and birds are attracted; how weeds and disease are controlled without herbicides and pesticides; and how natural compost enriches the soils. Then learn how grapes become wines and are aged and blended to form Villa Milagro's delicious wines. Drink in the breathtaking views that earn this farm its name, Villa Milagro which is Spanish for "home of miracles!" You are welcome to host your private events here as well as come anytime on the Winery Train.

On The Train

On the train you will have your very own guide who will inform you about the railroad and our historic equipment. We are there to answer your questions and provide you with support during your trip.

Our picnic groves

We have two beautiful picnic groves. The largest is in Phillipsburg at our station with views of the Delaware and Lehigh Rivers. Our most beautiful picnic grove is located at  the stop for The Susquehanna Mining Company called "Snyders". Here we have about 20 picnic tables under beautiful sprawling pine trees. Also located at this stop are both the The Susquehanna Mining Company and  the Corn Maze ( in season). If you opt to use the picnic grove at the mine location you can take the next train north ( 1 1/2 hours later) to return back to the station. You may also enjoy the mine experience which is only $5.00 or the Corn Maze, also $5.00. Both of these tickets can be purchased on site. Please note. While you are welcome to bring a nice picnic lunch, only alcohol purchased at Villa Milagro may be consumed on railroad property.

Other events along your journey...
